Those many faithful members of the Packages of Hope volunteer team have been keeping up with our progress since my 2007 China charity trip.
In the last 3 years, I have been to China each year for either work or vacation, and have always found a way to work in our charity.
We have been a part of the Lunar New Year festivities every year for Bengbu SWI in Anhui province.
We have also been a part of several medical missions in Changchun, Jilin province, and in QianJiang SWI in ChongQing.

2010 Accomplishments
-Storage shelving provided for the Bengbu Social Welfare Institute, China
- Medical team sent to Holholt, Mongolia to provide health assessments of the children
- Hired caretaker at Siping Social Welfare Institute, China
- Funding provided to Altrusa for foster care of Jiujiang, China
- Medical care, food and clothing provided to Tbilisi Baby House in The Republic of Georgia
- Funding provided to FCC Australia to cover the transportation and surgeries of “Jill” a burn child from China
- Medical care provided to a QianJiang child with hydrocephalus
- Funding provided to Amity Foundation for foster care sponsorship of 15 children from ChangDe Social Welfare Insitute and sponsorship of 4 Hugging Grannies
- Air conditioner, washing machine, humidifier and cassette players provided to the Bengbu Social Welfare Institute
- Funding provided to An Orphans Wish for club feet surgeries for children from the Bengbu Social Welfare Institute, China
2009 Accomplishments
- Winter clothing provided for the Verbist Care Center in Mongolia
- Milk powder provided for the children of QianJiang Social Welfare Institute, China
- Medical care for children living in the Siping Social Welfare Institute, China
- Gifts for Chinese New Year for the Bengbu Social Welfare Institute, China
- Sponsorship of orphans attending the Siping School for the Deaf
- Hired caretaker at Siping Social Welfare Institute, China
- Medical care and formula provided for orphans in The Republic of Georgia
- Four heat/air units for the QianJiang Social Welfare Institute, China
- New bedding and microwave for the Bengbu Social Welfare Institute, China
- Medical supplies and clothing for the ShenYang Social Welfare Institute, China
- Two scooters for disabled teens at the Bengbu Social Welfare Institute, China
- Sponsorship of ChangDe girl living at the Philip Hayden Foundation, China
- Foster care sponsorship through Altrusa for orphan from Jian Social Welfare Institute, China
- Blackboard for the Siping Social Welfare Institute, China
- Clothing and blankets for children living in the Changchun Social Welfare Institute, China
- Winter coats for for children living in the Siping Social Welfare Institute, China
- Baby care items provided to orphanage in Uganda through Watoto
- Blankets and onsies provided for the Jian Social Welfare Institute, China
2008 Accomplishments
- 76 sets of new winter clothing and milk powder for the children of QianJiang SWI
- 54 bottles of infant vitamins provided to the Philip Hayden Foundation
- $5,000 medical grant provided for “Emily,” a child with Thalassmia, being adopted through WACAP
- 17 boxes filled with winter clothing and supplies sent to the ChangDe SWI
- New washing machine and digital camera provided for the Fengxin
- Indoor play/therapy equipment for Jinzhou SWI
- Two electric scooters for two children in Bengbu SWI
- Funding for medical care for “Emily” being cared for at Philip Hayden Foundation
- Sponsorship of three orphans attending the Siping School for the Deaf
- Hired caretaker at Siping SWI In partnership with Amity, foster care provided for 15 children, and funding for four “Hugging Grannies” for the ChangDe Social Welfare Insitute.
- Medical treatments and care for children at the Siping Social Welfare Institute of China
- Winter clothing provided for the ChangDe Social Welfare Institute Through Altrusa, funding provided for a wheelchair, 6 walkers, 6 toilet seats, and 6 crutches for the Jian Social Welfare Institute in China
- 60 blankets provided for the children living at the Yujiang Social Welfare Institute in China
- Milk powder provided for the ChangDe Social Welfare Institute in China
- Doctor evaluations provided on orphaned children in the Yining Social Welfare Institute, China
- Clothing provided for the Yining Social Welfare Institute, China
- Leg and arm braces provided for a 3 year old orphan in The Republic of Georgia
- Scabies medicine provided for orphans in The Republic of Georgia
- Through Altrusa, foster care funding for 3 children from the Jian Social Welfare Institute, China
- 60 new mattresses for the Bengbu Social Welfare Institute in China 5 new air conditioning units for the Bengbu Social Welfare Institute in China
- New clothing for children living in the Bengbu Social Welfare Institute in China
- New winter clothing provided for children living in the QianJiang Social Welfare Institute in China
- Visiting volunteer teams provided additional care to children living in the Bengbu, Jinzhou, and orphanages in the XinJiang province,
- China Foster care funded for orphans in The Republic of Georgia Food, clothing, bottles and medical care provided for orphans in The Republic of Georgia
- Assisted in the coordination of the foster care for Baby Hannah from QiangJiang orphanage
A great thanks to all the volunteers and donors who have devoted countless hours in order to help the orphan children of the world. We have made a difference!
